In 1960, brothers Warren J. and Nelson Gottier started keeping Vernon warm — a plumbing and heating outfit built on showing up and doing the job right.

Sixty-some winters later, Gottier Fuel Company is still family-owned, three generations in. The van in the photograph became a fleet of blue trucks with GOTTIER painted in orange down the tank, and the promise on the side of them hasn’t changed: Oil Heats Best!

Same family. Same town. Same phone that gets answered at 2 a.m.
